This is a hands-on workshop looking at how the skills of growing and cooking can support learning in primary maths and science. Links will be made to key aims and programmes of study in the 2014 curriculum.
At the end of this course you will have:
- Learnt how a variety of fruits and vegetables are grown, understood their seasonality and practiced some basic sowing and growing techniques
- Discovered how growing and cooking can support learning in maths and science, with ideas, resources and practical activities to take back to school
- Learnt how to monitor and evaluate skills progression when cooking with children
Suitable for teachers at Key Stages 1 and 2, with little or no experience
This course will be delivered with our RHS partners.
